Training

The PACCK Foundation fosters the human/animal bond, working
tirelessly to ensure that we raise and train the best dogs possible.
The PACCK Foundation works with White Shepherds for its Autism Assistance Canine Programs.

Our dogs are trained with high value rewards of both food and praise. An abundance
of rewards, including physical and verbal affection builds motivation, confidence
and produces a happy working Autism Assistance Canine.

Custom Needs Training

Autism is a spectrum disorder, meaning that it has many possible collections of
symptoms and levels of severity within each symptom. In order to meet the diverse
needs of our families and continue our role as leaders in innovative Autism Assistance
Canine training, we developed our Custom Needs Program. The Custom Needs
Program includes tools and resources that we can employ to fill the needs of our
unique families. The skills the dogs are taught are tailored to meet the needs of
specific families.

Unique abilities of Our Autism Assistance Canines

In addition to being specifically trained to work with Autistic children, PACCK
Assistance Canines are also trained in "intelligence disobedience": if they are given an
unsafe command, they are taught to not obey it (for example: refusing to step out
into the street when there is oncoming traffic). Our Autism Assistance Canines are
also trained to have impeccable manners (for all those times they must visit places of
public accommodation, such as restaurants, grocery stores and public transportation),
and are capable of avoiding distractions (such as cats!). In addition, all our Assistance
Canines possess an eagerness to please and a willingness to work.
